Job Highlights
What You Bring
At Republic Services, Technicians are essential for maintaining fleet performance and quality. They perform routine and preventive maintenance on diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks. The two‑year Technician Apprenticeship trains entry‑level technicians in electrical diagnosis, air‑conditioning and heating, wheel‑end assembly, air system, air brakes, hydraulics, and truck preventative maintenance. Apprentices receive direct supervision from a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor or Manager and apply skills such as basic tire work, wheel‑end components, hydraulic and electrical system knowledge, and overall preventive maintenance. A dedicated mentor supports them throughout the apprenticeship journey. Minimum qualifications require a commitment to complete the two‑year program, logical problem‑solving abilities, an interest in engineering, flexibility to work nights, weekends or holidays, and adherence to Republic Services’ safety, ethics and respect values. Candidates must be willing to travel to Dallas for the initial nine‑week training and relocate nationwide after program completion.
