About the Role

The Process Technician at Viega in Mantua, OH is responsible for ensuring machines operate at peak quality and efficiency while driving continuous‑improvement initiatives and developing the skill set of team members. Key duties include leading and training staff, executing machine changeovers, monitoring equipment against control plans, performing minor mechanical adjustments, maintaining set‑up records, and assembling tooling for scheduled runs. The role also involves root‑cause analysis, suggesting equipment improvements, inspecting and performing preventative maintenance on tooling, and managing documentation to meet quality and safety standards. • Provide leadership and on‑the‑job training for team members. • Execute machine changeovers and monitor production per control plans. • Perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments; notify leadership for major service. • Maintain set‑up records and submit first‑article inspections for quality approval. • Conduct root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions through continuous‑improvement processes. • Suggest and implement equipment and tooling enhancements based on production experience. • Inspect tooling before/after runs and perform preventative maintenance (teardown, cleaning, greasing). • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and quality system requirements. • Keep the work area clean and organized using 6S principles and assist with daily cleaning tasks. • Document processing issues, shift logs, and QMS records accurately. • Attend operational and safety meetings and perform additional duties as assigned. • Work flexible shifts, including temporary assignments to other shifts as needed.

What You Bring

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong knowledge of health‑ and safety policies, and the ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram instructions. Proficiency in MS Office, SAP experience, solid organizational and communication skills, and the capacity to solve problems quickly with minimal supervision are essential.
