About the Role
The Supplier Quality Engineer collaborates with suppliers to monitor the effectiveness of their Quality Management System and works closely with key internal stakeholders such as Engineering, Operations, and Procurement. The role focuses on continuously improving supplier performance, extending product lifecycle, reducing scrap, and enhancing manufacturing and repair processes. The engineer is responsible for ensuring receipt of defect‑free products by performing all tasks in the area of responsibility promptly to support the supplier quality and inspection system. This includes verifying that delivered articles comply with approved quality system requirements and contractual obligations, managing compliance through system, product, and process audits, and certifying supplier capabilities according to applicable quality standards. Key duties involve identifying opportunities for process and product improvements, driving the Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) process, and leading quality focus meetings to communicate supplier performance to senior leadership. The role also promotes continuous improvement techniques and Advanced Part Quality Planning (APQP) principles at supplier sites to reduce variability and achieve process control. The Supplier Quality Engineer utilizes supplier quality data to spot trends, participates in floor stand‑up meetings for firsthand issue insight, and conducts timely investigations into supplier quality problems. Effective communication of complex issues in a concise manner is essential to foster collaboration and corrective action. • Monitor supplier Quality Management Systems and conduct compliance audits. • Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Procurement to improve supplier performance, including lifecycle extension and scrap reduction. • Drive Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes for assigned suppliers and ensure timely, effective closure. • Lead quality focus meetings and communicate supplier performance updates to senior leadership. • Promote continuous improvement techniques and Advanced Part Quality Planning (APQP) principles at supplier sites. • Ensure proper inspection and drawing requirements are communicated, understood, and met. • Analyze supplier quality data to identify trends and implement continuous improvements. • Conduct investigations of supplier quality issues and participate in floor stand‑up meetings.

What You Bring
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent military experience, at least one year of experience in supplier quality, quality engineering, or process engineering within a manufacturing environment, and eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship in compliance with ITAR. Additional expectations are three years of quality or engineering experience, proficiency in blueprint reading, statistical methods, AS9100, APQP, CAPA, GD&T, experience with aerospace and special‑process suppliers, and certification as an AS9100 Auditor. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience and be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship (ITAR compliance). • Possess at least one year of experience in supplier quality, quality engineering, or process engineering in manufacturing. • Have three years of quality or engineering experience with skills in blueprint reading, statistical methods, problem solving, and industry quality standards. • Knowledge of AS9100, APQP, CAPA, GD&T, and experience with aerospace and special‑process suppliers. • Certified AS9100 Auditor.
