About the Role

Join our team shaping the future of HVAC and energy systems across Ontario and beyond. You will work on institutional, commercial, and infrastructure projects that cut energy use, improve occupant comfort, and modernize essential systems. The role is designed for early‑career engineers ready to own defined scopes while sharpening technical judgment in a collaborative setting. • Perform site surveys and assessments to support mechanical design development. • Prepare mechanical design briefs, load calculations, ventilation sizing, and equipment selection for HVAC and energy systems. • Develop engineering calculations, technical reports, and construction documentation per WSP standards and applicable codes. • Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams for coordinated project delivery. • Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and support construction administration to ensure design intent. • Produce mechanical drawings and specifications complying with building codes and industry standards. • Contribute to central plant and district energy system design, including layouts, load coordination, and documentation. • Participate in client meetings and design team discussions for project alignment and decision‑making. • Assist with proposal efforts, including fee letter support and RFP responses. • Apply codes, standards, and best practices daily to ensure safe, efficient, constructible designs.

What You Bring

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering graduate with three to seven years of hands‑on HVAC design experience in a consulting environment. Candidates should be proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and calculation software, and be progressing toward P.Eng. licensure. Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code, CSA standards, and ASHRAE guidelines, along with a collaborative, client‑focused mindset, is essential. • Hold a Mechanical Engineering degree with 3–7 years of HVAC design experience in consulting. • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and engineering calculation tools. • Progressing toward P.Eng. licensure with a commitment to professional growth. • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, CSA standards, and ASHRAE guidelines. • Experienced in producing coordinated design packages and managing defined scopes independently. • Collaborative mindset and strong problem‑solving skills with multidisciplinary teams and clients. • Effective communicator capable of direct client interaction and clear technical discussions. • Prior experience in educational, recreational, cultural, or sports facility design is an asset.
