About the Role
The Cleaner ensures the assigned premises remain clean, hygienic and secure, following a schedule that includes routine and deep‑cleaning activities, equipment operation and waste management. The position also supports infection control, reports any hazards or maintenance concerns, manages access keys and assists with occasional room set‑ups, while responding swiftly to urgent cleaning needs. • Clean corridors, offices and communal areas to a high standard • Perform routine cleaning (hoovering, mopping, dusting, sanitising) and deep‑cleaning tasks • Operate floor scrubbers, carpet cleaners and other equipment safely • Replenish cleaning supplies, soap dispensers, toilet rolls and paper towels • Dispose of waste and recycling according to site procedures and environmental standards • Report maintenance issues, hazards or damage to the supervisor promptly • Follow COSHH and other health‑and‑safety regulations • Secure the building and handle keys responsibly, especially at night • Support infection‑control measures and respond to spillages urgently • Assist with setting up rooms for school events or meetings when required • Work independently or as part of a team to meet daily cleaning targets • Participate in training sessions and toolbox talks as required
