About the Role

Key duties include reviewing RFPs, plans and scope documents for new and retrofit BAS projects, developing cost estimates for controls, hardware, software, labor and subcontracted services, and collaborating with sales, engineering and operations to align proposals with project requirements. The estimator will also perform site visits to validate scope, prepare detailed proposal documents, identify value‑engineering opportunities, maintain a pricing database and support pre‑sales activities such as client inquiries and tender presentations. • Review and analyze RFPs, plans, specifications, and scope documents for BAS projects • Develop accurate cost estimates for controls, hardware, software, labor, and subcontractors • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and operations to align proposals with project requirements • Conduct site visits to verify scope and conditions • Prepare detailed proposal documents, including scopes of work and equipment schedules • Identify cost‑saving and value‑engineering opportunities • Maintain and update a database of labor and material pricing • Support pre‑sales efforts by answering client questions and assisting in tender presentations • Track and manage multiple estimates and bids concurrently to meet deadlines

What You Bring

The company is seeking a detail‑oriented Building Automation Sales Estimator to support the sales team with accurate, competitive, and timely project estimates and proposals. The role blends strong analytical abilities with knowledge of HVAC and building automation systems (BAS) and requires interpreting construction documents, specifications, and drawings. Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED and two or more years of experience in HVAC, HVAC controls, or building automation systems. A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, business or accounting is preferred, along with the ability to read blue‑print drawings, prior estimating or engineering experience, strong BAS knowledge, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and estimating software. Excellent attention to detail, time‑management, and written and verbal communication skills are essential. • Possess at least a high school diploma/GED and 2+ years HVAC or building automation experience • Preferred: bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or accounting and estimating software proficiency
