About the Role

Key duties include interpreting blueprints and specifications to define material requirements, selecting appropriate tools, and assessing safety hazards. The role involves fabricating, installing, and testing pipe systems, installing valves and supports, and performing rigging operations with appropriate equipment. All work must adhere to applicable plans, specifications, and quality standards. • Read blueprints and specifications to determine scope of work, including locations, quantities, and material sizes. • Identify all tools required for tasks. • Identify safety risks and required precautions. • Prepare, fabricate, install, and fit pipe to specifications. • Install valves, hangers, supports, flanges in piping system per plans and specifications. • Perform tests to ensure pipe and system quality. • Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment.

What You Bring

The company seeks an experienced Industrial Scaffold Builder with at least four years of relevant experience. Candidates must be proficient in reading engineering prints and possess solid pipe‑fitting knowledge, as well as strong leadership and communication abilities. Experience on industrial construction projects is also required. Applicants should have a proven background in industrial construction or maintenance, be able to read technical manuals, and demonstrate expertise in pipe‑fitting for combined‑cycle power plant systems. Additional expectations include problem‑solving skills, manual dexterity, teamwork, independent work capability, and a commitment to Zachry’s safety culture. Preferred candidates are former or ROF’ed Zachry employees, hold NCCER certification, and possess formal technical education. • Must have 4+ years experience as an Industrial Scaffold Builder. • Must be able to read prints and demonstrate thorough knowledge of pipe fitting procedures. • Must have good leadership and communication skills. • Must have experience on an industrial construction project. • Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance history experience. • Ability to read prints and construction drawings. • Ability to read and interpret technical and manufacturer manuals. • Knowledge of pipe fitting processes for industrial piping and boiler components in a combined‑cycle power plant. • Must have 4+ years experience with pipe fitting processes. • Good problem‑solving abilities. • Good aptitude and manual dexterity. • Good reading comprehension. • Ability to work with others as a team player. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Good communication skills with co‑workers and supervisors. • Zachry ROF’ed employee (preferred). • Former Zachry employee (preferred). • NCCER certification as an Industrial Pipe Fitter (preferred). • Formal/technical education (preferred).
