Senior Data Scientist

About the Role

The Senior Data Scientist will serve as the technical lead for designing, building, and operationalizing advanced analytics and machine learning solutions that drive business value. As the first data scientist on the team, this role will establish foundational capabilities, set standards, and partner with business leaders, the AI team, and the Data & Analytics organization to translate complex problems into scalable, data‑driven solutions. • Design, build, evaluate, and iterate statistical, ML, and AI models with rigorous validation. • Develop and deploy advanced analytics solutions to address complex business problems. • Document model assumptions, methodologies, experiments, and results for transparency and reuse. • Ensure data privacy, security, and compliance in analytical solutions. • Own the data science and ML development environment, including tools, libraries, and workflows (e.g., Databricks). • Communicate insights, model outcomes, risks, and recommendations through visualizations and storytelling. • Lead end‑to‑end ML solution design with AI and D&A teams, covering data exploration to monitoring. • Provide technical direction to Data Engineers and Architects to ensure data quality and scalability. • Perform exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and large‑scale experimentation to uncover predictive signals. • Support model operationalization, monitor performance, manage drift, and enable retraining. • Translate business questions into analytical strategies, modeling approaches, and measurable outcomes. • Occasionally stoop, kneel, bend, lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lb. • Must follow safety standards and procedures. • Frequent use of electronic devices for communication with customers or vendors.

What You Bring

• 3+ years experience with Databricks or similar Spark‑based data science/ML platforms. • 6–8+ years in data science, advanced analytics, or applied ML roles. • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience. • Proven ability to own end‑to‑end solutions from problem definition to deployment and optimization. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for non‑technical audiences. • Preferred: Azure data platforms, MLflow, Git/GitHub, Azure DevOps, CI/CD for ML (MLOps). • Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining production statistical/ML models. • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking abilities with attention to detail. • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis, modeling, and experimentation. • Deep understanding of a wide range of statistical and ML techniques and appropriate selection. • Frequent use of hands for handling objects. • Regular interaction with people and technology; frequent use of phone, computer, email. • Ability to sit, stand, or walk short distances for the full shift duration.
