About the Role
The Associate Director – Commercial Consultancy will own end‑to‑end service delivery for large and complex infrastructure commissions, ensuring client objectives are met through value‑added cost management. The role includes overseeing feasibility studies, value management, cost planning, procurement, post‑contract cost control, reporting, final account negotiation and serving as the primary interface with clients and consultants. • Conduct feasibility studies, business cases and write procurement reports • Apply value management techniques at project outset • Manage estimating and cost planning, own and present final cost plan • Oversee procurement process including pre‑qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation • Manage post‑contract cost variances and change control processes • Ensure cost checking and valuation work is performed effectively • Produce monthly post‑contract cost reports and present them to the client • Attend meetings and actively participate • Perform value engineering and life‑cycle costing • Negotiate and agree final accounts • Serve as key interface with client and other consultants at all project stages • Lead marketing and business development activities within sector • Provide line management and oversee recruitment • Be digitally savvy, build lasting client relationships and lead high‑performing teams in a commercial environment • Maintain a cost consultancy practice and show ambition to grow career with Mace

What You Bring
Successful candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree and be members of a relevant professional institute, with a proven track record of winning and delivering large‑scale infrastructure projects. They must possess strong knowledge of contracts, estimating, valuations, cost reporting and financial modelling, along with excellent negotiating, influencing and communication skills, and the ability to build lasting client relationships and lead high‑performing teams. • Hold a bachelor’s degree and membership of a relevant professional institute • Demonstrate a track record of winning and delivering large‑scale infrastructure projects • Possess strong knowledge of contracts, estimating, valuations, cost reporting and financial modelling • Exhibit negotiating, influencing and communication skills to command professional respect at all levels
