About the Role
The Driver Helper rides on the vehicle and assists the Driver in delivering prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services on a designated residential route. This role includes safely loading waste, carrying bags and containers to the vehicle, and directing the Driver while maneuvering the vehicle, as well as maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle and work area. Key duties involve riding on the vehicle to support the Driver, operating the packing mechanism and levers to activate loading, cleaning waste from the packer blade and truck body after each trip, and performing thorough pre‑ and post‑operation inspections. The Helper also interacts courteously with customers and dispatchers, monitors waste for unacceptable material, cleans any accidental spills following safety standards, and adheres to productivity and safety policies.
