About the Role

• Collaborate with system designers, operators, and industry to embed security into products, develop standards, and close requirement gaps • Conduct risk assessments to ensure secure integration without compromising system security posture • Generate cybersecurity functional requirements during design reviews and support agile development • Develop and execute security‑focused test and evaluation procedures, documenting results • Troubleshoot system configurations, patches, and security scan findings; update security definitions • Review STIG findings to maintain ongoing compliance with NIST and DoD standards • Support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) RMF processes per DoD Instruction 8510.01 and produce related artifacts • Create and maintain certification, accreditation documents such as SSPs, PPS, and accreditation boundary diagrams

What You Bring

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team of Cyber & Intelligence professionals supporting our DCSA partners. In this role, you'll assist by working closely with the software development teams to develop secure baseline configurations for their integrated DevSecOps environment, test and verify systems remain compliant with current NIST standards, and ensure the project is protected against the ever‑evolving threat landscape. This role supports remote work, with occasional onsite attendance required for customer‑facing meetings in Columbia, MD. Candidates must hold an active Top Secret security clearance and be U.S. citizens. A Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Security Engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline is required, with the option to adjust for relevant work experience. The role also requires a current DoD 8570 IAT II certification. Applicants should have recent RMF and ATO experience and extensive knowledge of cyber security tools, network topologies, intrusion detection, PKI, and secured networks. A minimum of three to five years designing and implementing systems that meet agency cyber security policies is required, along with a solid understanding of risk management processes and the ability to produce RMF artifacts such as system security plans and POA&Ms. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Preferred qualifications include a DoD 8570 IAT III certification, experience with AWS and cloud architecture design, and familiarity with security devices such as firewalls, web proxies, intrusion prevention systems, and vulnerability scanners. Experience with object‑oriented programming languages like Java or Python is also a plus. • Hold an active Top Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, a relevant bachelor's degree, and DoD 8570 IAT II certification • Possess 3‑5+ years of experience with cyber security tools, network topologies, PKI, and defense‑in‑depth architecture
