About the Role
The role of Project Manager – Electrical is to retain total control of all project aspects, ensuring construction meets established time frames and budgets. Working alongside the Commercial Manager and Project Engineers, the manager will motivate the team, monitor cost variances, and approve subcontractor time extensions. Key duties include developing an overall planning strategy that incorporates major milestones, fully understanding design briefs and associated cost plans, and evaluating constructability and buildability of designs. The manager must operate within defined governance frameworks, manage issues, risks, and opportunities, and promptly communicate critical legislative and authority matters to senior management. • Oversee total project control to ensure schedule and budget compliance. • Lead construction activities, motivate the team, and manage subcontractor time extensions. • Develop and integrate an overall planning strategy with key milestones. • Review design briefs and cost plans, assessing constructability and buildability. • Operate within project governance frameworks and manage issues, risks, and opportunities. • Communicate critical legislative and authority matters promptly to senior management. • Manage contractual terms, financial accountability, and profit‑loss forecasting. • Coordinate engineering works, inspection, scheduling, procurement, and quality control per ACEREZ D&C standards.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold an Electrical Engineering degree and possess at least ten years of experience in construction or engineering environments focused on substations and renewable energy projects, especially outdoor air‑insulated substations of 220 kV or higher. Advanced knowledge of engineering and construction principles, contractual terms, and financial accountability for project profitability is required, as is the ability to coordinate engineering works, inspection, scheduling, procurement, and quality control per ACEREZ D&C standards. The position starts in a Sydney CBD office with occasional site visits and later transitions to a roster of 14 days onsite in camp‑style accommodation followed by 7 days off‑site. • Hold an Electrical Engineering degree with 10+ years of experience in substations and renewable energy projects. • Possess advanced knowledge of engineering and construction principles for 220 kV+ outdoor air‑insulated substations. • Work initially from Sydney CBD office with occasional site visits; later rotate 14 days onsite and 7 days off‑site.
