Job Highlights
About the Role
The Sorter ensures that materials are correctly placed and sorted on the conveyor line. The role involves inspecting, sorting, feeding, and cleaning material streams while following standard operating procedures and reporting safety or equipment issues. • Inspect materials and sort them by type, size, condition, color, or paper grade. • Remove contaminants from paper and the floor. • Stack boxes and skids; dump boxes and totes of material. • Feed wastepaper and other material onto the conveyor. • Clean the conveyor line and surrounding work area. • Monitor machine start‑up and maintain proper operating speed. • Follow standard operating procedures for equipment operation and maintenance. • Report safety hazards and equipment malfunctions. • Attend weekly or monthly safety and operations meetings. • Work in indoor garage, shop, gas‑plant environments and outdoors in inclement weather, heat, and humidity.

The job requires climbing, balancing, repetitive motions, and coordination, and it can be performed inside garages, shops or gas plants as well as outdoors in inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
