About the Role

The position involves daily kitchen operations at RAAF Tindal, where chefs will manage sections, lead junior staff, prepare high‑quality meals and cater events while maintaining the highest culinary standards, all within a safety‑first culture. • Support the Head Chef with daily mess operations and food service. • Prepare food using large‑volume cooking equipment. • Implement and manage Ventia’s Food Safety Program. • Clean, sanitise and maintain equipment and premises. • Support stock management, including rotation and restocking consumables.

What You Bring

In partnership with the Australian Defence Force, Ventia is seeking multiple experienced and reliable chefs to join the team at RAAF Tindal. This role is part of Ventia’s long‑standing collaboration with the Department of Defence, delivering integrated infrastructure and asset management support across military bases. Applicants must be Australian citizens, eligible for a Defence Security Clearance and willing to undergo an Australian Federal Police check. • Deliver exceptional customer experiences in line with contract expectations. • Hold a Commercial Cookery qualification (Cert III or higher). • Current Australian driver’s licence. • Knowledge of Food Safety Standards and related legislation. • Experience in a similar commercial hospitality role. • Strong customer service skills and ability to work autonomously and in a team. • Eligibility for Defence Security Clearance (Australian citizen, willing to undergo AFP check).
