About the Role

Key responsibilities include overseeing technical excellence across projects, mentoring junior engineers, preparing comprehensive design and construction documentation, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. The engineer also supports project managers in meeting milestones, prepares technical reports, manages resources, and contributes to business development initiatives. • Lead technical excellence across roadway projects, coordinating disciplines from preliminary to final design. • Mentor junior engineers, providing design direction and fostering collaboration. • Prepare design and construction documents, including geometric designs, superelevation, plans, profiles, cross‑sections, cost estimates, and QA/QC records. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive project execution. • Support project managers in meeting milestones, client criteria, and project scope. • Generate technical reports and documentation for clients and internal stakeholders. • Assist in resource planning, liaising with support departments and assembling effective project teams. • Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities and leading RFP/qualification responses. • Maintain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

Technical expertise in MicroStation v8i and GeoPak is essential, with Civil3D and Open Roads Designer preferred, and strong communication skills are required. • Hold a four‑year civil engineering degree and 8+ years of roadway/highway design experience. • Proficient with MicroStation v8i and GeoPak; experience with Civil3D and Open Roads Designer preferred. • Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills. • Familiarity with NCDOT/SCDOT regulations and industry practices.
