About the Role
• Provide technical leadership and assessment for mechanical, electrical, or test aspects of the space vehicle. • Lead trade teams for unit and subsystem design, integration, and testing into the spacecraft bus and payload. • Ensure technical design integrity and interface compatibility across the space vehicle, ground, and terminal segments. • Support component and unit test programs, including space qualification testing for survivability. • Develop and maintain test documentation such as test plans and reports. • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with government customers, contractors, and FFRDC teammates.

What You Bring
Required qualifications include an active Secret clearance, a BS in engineering, mathematics, physics, software or computer science (or a MS plus 12 years of experience), and at least 15 years of experience with spacecraft buses or subsystems. Proven coordination skills, strong written and oral communication, and the ability to perform under high‑visibility, stressful situations are essential. DOD or intelligence‑community space experience is preferred. • Maintain an active Secret clearance and possess a BS (or MS) in a technical field with 12‑15 years of relevant experience. • Demonstrate proven coordination, communication, and interpersonal skills in high‑stress environments. • Be able to work on‑site at LAAFB full‑time with up to 10% travel within Southern California and CONUS.

Benefits
The position is 100% on‑site at Los Angeles Air Force Base with infrequent travel (approximately 10% within Southern California and CONUS). Standard working hours are typical office hours, and remote work is not available. Compensation ranges from $150,000 to $229,000 in California, based on knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience, with internal parity considerations.
