About the Role

The Application Engineer leads projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact for downstream & upstream Turbomachinery Solutions at the regional & global level. In this role, you will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues within area of application engineering and contribute to the overall business strategy. The role requires mastery of a body of theoretical knowledge and a strong foundation of functional skills and relevant technologies. You will provide technical expertise to Sales and Commercial Operations in selecting, implementing, and developing competitive product applications and solutions, and support leaders in delivering revenue commitments. You will estimate Baker Hughes equipment and system performance, hardware, and pricing for new and upgraded centrifugal compressors per API 617, including balance of plant and auxiliary systems. You will assess competitive system performance, align sub‑vendor proposals with customer requisitions, and participate in risk assessment, deal strategy, and cost‑out reviews to define optimal technical solutions. You will support bid reviews, perform cycle and equipment comparisons to determine the economically optimum configuration, and respond to technical inquiries while maintaining documentation for consistency and training. You will communicate project status to management, manage daily priorities, apply problem‑solving skills, and establish clear working relationships through effective written and verbal communication. • Provide technical expertise to sales and commercial teams for product selection and solution development. • Estimate equipment performance, hardware, and pricing for new and upgraded centrifugal compressors per API 617. • Assess system performance, align sub‑vendor proposals, and participate in risk and cost‑out reviews. • Support bid reviews, perform cycle/equipment comparisons, and respond to technical inquiries. • Maintain documentation for process consistency and training, and communicate project status to management. • Lead small teams, coordinate multiple projects, and influence stakeholders.

What You Bring

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 10 years of engineering/technology experience) and a minimum of five years of customer application engineering experience with centrifugal compressors are required. Desired attributes include strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, the ability to influence and lead small teams, and the capacity to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Effective problem identification, analytical, and organizational abilities are also essential. • Required: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and ≥5 years in customer application engineering for centrifugal compressors. • Desired: Strong communication, leadership, problem‑solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
