About the Role

The Combination Welder is tasked with welding, fabricating, and assisting pipe fitters in installing industrial piping systems, including supports, racks, and related components. The role supports project piping installations across various configurations. • Perform welding in 2G, 4G, and 6G positions using stick and TIG processes. • Follow applicable welding procedures with arc, gas‑shielded arc, submerged arc, or flux‑cored equipment. • Layout, cut, assemble, bolt, clamp, and tack‑weld pipe components according to drawings. • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical manuals. • Identify required equipment, safety risks, and implement safety measures. • Conduct weld repairs on carbon steel, stainless, and chrome pipe. • Assist pipe fitters with pipe installation, preparation, and fabrication tasks. • Maintain required tools and possess reliable transportation to job sites.

What You Bring

Applicants should possess a valid welding certification, several years of industrial pipe welding experience, and the necessary tools to begin work. They must also meet the physical requirements essential for handling equipment and materials on site. The job requires extensive physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, lifting, and occasional work at heights, while adhering to safety protocols and wearing required personal protective equipment. • Meet all physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lb and working at heights. • Preferred: current Zachry employee or certification, prior experience with Zachry Industrial, background as an industrial pipe fitter, and experience on chemical plant construction projects.
