About the Role
The Project Engineer supports field activities and works closely with the Project Manager, handling project administration for multiple small projects or a medium‑to‑large project. Responsibilities include managing job transition, cost and schedule control, constructability, technical evaluations, quality, safety, procurement, contract management, and regulatory compliance. • Generate and obtain approvals of monthly billing and earned values • Develop and manage the project schedule on small or mid-sized projects • Analyze targets, goals, job cost summaries, and other reports • Alert Superintendent and Project Manager of resource and crew impacts • Generate and obtain approval of the initial budget and updates; review weekly job cost summaries • Estimate change orders and interface with pre‑construction on original bids • Collaborate with pre‑construction and project team to manage job transition, communicate requirements, and develop procurement plans and budgets • Generate material quantity take‑offs, scoping documents, terms and conditions, and delivery information for procurement • Create requests for proposals, solicit and review quotations, and recommend procurement decisions • Prepare field purchase orders for standard packages and obtain approval of major purchase orders • Gather and rough‑in monthly financial reports and participate in project financial reviews • Work with Project Manager to approve and code project invoices • Generate and obtain approval of technical records such as constructability reports, RFIs, inspection records, work packages, and deviation reports • Coordinate with Superintendent, Field Project Engineer, and Line and Grade to generate required as‑built records • Manage work package closure, punch lists, and project turnover; approve pre‑ and post‑pour checklists • Collect documentation to identify and assess potential contract changes, disputes, and claims • Lead LEAN/SQP committee and identify improvement opportunities • Ensure subcontractor compliance with contract terms and obtain approval on impact notices • Review and confirm compliance reports (prevailing wage, workforce utilization, MBE/SBE participation) and advise Project Manager • Interface with Safety and Risk Management to establish clinics, manage injury reports, and assist with case management • Follow company recruitment and hiring guidelines • Conduct new‑hire orientation and process E‑Verify (certified) • Coordinate tracking and completion of training requirements with project management • Read, analyze, and interpret business documents, technical procedures, and government regulations • Write reports, business correspondence, and procedures • Communicate effectively with all project personnel • Apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, geometry, and trigonometry to practical situations • Analyze and compute differences across all drawing stages, including shop drawings • Customize and modify spreadsheets • Direct work and evaluate co‑workers’ strengths and weaknesses • Define problems, collect information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions • Develop construction schedules using the critical path method • Interpret contracts, specifications, drawings, and scope of work • Proactively maximize return on investment at all times

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years experience, or 6 years construction experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Understand cost accounting principles • Basic understanding of construction software such as Primavera, Timberline, Vista • Work effectively in a team environment
