About the Role

Mortenson is seeking a Superintendent I who will coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within a specific discipline. The role also focuses on developing and strengthening customer relationships through excellent service. • Plan and implement material, equipment, and inspection schedules to support the project timeline. • Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability. • Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers and resolve discrepancies. • Develop and manage project schedules, including three- and six-week look‑ahead plans. • Create a site logistics plan and lead utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment. • Collaborate with project partner superintendents on daily operations. • Conduct on‑site project orientations, pre‑construction planning sessions, and site meetings. • Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews; handle hiring, transfers, and dismissals as needed. • Coach and mentor assistant superintendents, craft team members, and other project personnel. • Ensure proper task coding on timecards and track work progress and craft productivity. • Manage craft team training and conduct career development discussions. • Build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and various organizational levels. • Lead team members by example, provide effective coaching and feedback, and manage performance. • Provide high‑level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team. • Identify and mitigate unfavorable working conditions and seek opportunities to improve processes.

Benefits

The base pay for this role ranges from $111,400 to $167,100, with higher ranges for certain locations, and the position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan. Benefits include medical, prescription, vision, dental, 401(k) with a generous match, paid time off, employer‑paid life, AD&D, and disability insurance, as well as mental‑health resources, tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, and a gym membership discount program. Travel up to 100% may be required.
