About the Role

The Senior Drainage Engineer (Design) position in Doha, Qatar, involves a wide variety of engineering assignments within the drainage discipline. Responsibilities include civil and transport infrastructure drainage design, detailed analysis of hydrological and hydraulic models, and providing technical expertise for stormwater quality systems, piped networks, and major transverse structures. The role also requires promoting a digital work environment, supervising junior staff, and coordinating with CAD/BIM/3‑D modeling teams. • Design and analyze civil and transport drainage infrastructure. • Conduct detailed hydrological and hydraulic modeling using tools such as SWMM, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, and Infoworks ICM. • Provide technical expertise for stormwater quality systems, piped networks, and major transverse drainage structures. • Promote and implement a digital work environment, including BIM and 3‑D modeling coordination. • Supervise, mentor, and support intermediate and junior engineers. • Lead projects, maintain client relationships, and secure design approvals. • Prepare calculations, drawings, reports, and design reviews.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Hydraulic, or Environmental Engineering; a Master’s in Water Engineering or Hydrology is advantageous. At least ten years of water‑engineering experience, including six years in Qatar or the GCC, and proven proficiency with hydrologic/hydraulic software such as SWMM, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, Infoworks ICM, GIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and MicroStation are required. Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or strong progress toward qualification, along with excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills, is expected. Desired attributes include experience in client‑facing roles, leadership of design tasks, and hands‑on automation of workflows using AI chatbots, Python, Ruby, VBA, Dynamo, or Grasshopper.
