About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end load‑lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable containers to disposal, transfer, or recycle facilities. The role includes commercial, residential, and roll‑off drivers, each requiring navigation of high‑traffic roadways, alleys, driveways, and skilled backing maneuvers to service containers that can exceed 1,000 pounds. • Operate vehicles in compliance with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws. • Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR). • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage to the Operations Manager or Dispatch immediately. • Attend scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required. • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and share best practices. • Notify management of service interruptions such as closed streets, heavy receptacles, or safety hazards. • Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Fully dump receptacles and leave each customer location clean and free of debris. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day documentation, and check‑out processes. • Assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.

What You Bring
The position involves regular standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing activities, and reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities. • Minimum one year of experience operating a CDL‑required vehicle or equivalent military driving within the past seven years. • Must be at least 18 years old, legally eligible to work in the country, and hold a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver License with an air‑brake endorsement. • Preferred: High School Diploma or GED.
