About the Role

Within the Building Engineering Services Group, HDR designs critical infrastructure—such as high‑performance data centers, commercial spaces, and other facilities—that supports technological advancement, sustainability and human experience through interdisciplinary collaboration. • Lead the Nebraska/Iowa structural engineering team, emphasizing technical excellence, quality, recruitment, and staff development. • Collaborate with market sector leaders to ensure technical excellence across commercial, civic, industrial, federal, water, transportation, healthcare, education, laboratory and mission‑critical facilities. • Engage with clients and community stakeholders. • Participate in marketing, planning, proposals, and interviews for key markets. • Promote HDR and its Structural Engineering practice within the engineering and architecture community through conferences, academic institutions and client interactions. • Serve as design lead or engineering project manager on key projects. • Build and maintain a leadership team for the structural work group, overseeing staff and technical development, profitability, morale and quality control. • Ensure work is planned, organized, controlled, checked and evaluated via proactive staff management. • Implement, monitor and support company policies. • Cooperate with other business class directors, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class initiatives. • Encourage and participate in work‑sharing and structural practice development with HDR's nationwide network of structural engineers. • Active involvement in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR’s technical expertise and brand.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or a related professional field. • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. • Hold a professional engineering registration and possess related technical expertise. • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing diverse teams. • Ability to work collaboratively with area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers.
