About the Role

As a Proof Inspector you will perform proof inspections of blades, fixtures, and related equipment, working from blade, tooling, manufacture, and finish drawings to ensure compliance with inspection standards. The role includes a range of responsibilities such as programming measurement equipment, collaborating with operations, and conducting detailed inspections to maintain quality standards. • Program CMM using Mitutoyo MCOSOMOS software to create calibration programmes for fixtures, model blades, and FAIR programmes. • Program 3D structured light system (GOM ScanBox) and analyse data with Polyworks IMInspect for calibration and tooling support. • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to prioritize work and provide shop‑floor support, troubleshooting CMM and GOM assets. • Perform measurements with inspection tables, sine tables, ball pins, slip gauges, micrometers, and height gauges, applying trigonometry and calculations. • Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI) on new blades using free‑table setups to verify production and inspection fixture integrity. • Ensure compliance with blade inspection standards, QAS audits, and maintain master blade records with a personalised stamp. • Perform trigonometric calculations and first‑principles measurements using sine tables, height gauges, and slip gauges.

What You Bring

Candidates must have completed a time‑served apprenticeship meeting Level 3 criteria and possess practical experience in the field. Applicants should provide NVQ Level 3 certification and evidence of the apprenticeship. Requirements include experience operating and programming CMM machines, proficiency with Polyworks or similar CAD software, and a solid understanding of casting, machining, and tooling drawings, as well as relevant tolerancing standards. Candidates may be required to complete online cognitive and behavioural assessments as part of the selection process, with instructions provided as needed. • Operate and programme CMM machines, proficient in Polyworks or comparable CAD software. • Understand casting, machining, and tooling drawings, including geometric and dimensional tolerancing per ASME & ISO standards. • Hold NVQ Level 3 time‑served apprenticeship certification.
