About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with customers, contractors, the Project Manager, and the wider design team, communicating issues promptly and professionally, and may attend site meetings to represent the company’s culture and values. • Review mechanical specifications, tenders, and project requirements to develop robust, value‑engineered solutions. • Produce high‑quality CAD models, drawing packs, calculations, and technical reports supporting efficient project delivery. • Design components such as GRP water‑treatment kiosks, storage tanks, pump cabinets, pipework systems, and structural frameworks. • Apply Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DfMA) and value‑engineering principles without compromising standards. • Procure materials, obtain quotes for bespoke components, and create accurate Bills of Materials. • Research design options, estimate costs and timescales, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. • Collaborate regularly with customers, contractors, the Project Manager, and the design team, communicating issues promptly. • Attend site meetings as required and represent company culture and values. • Conduct product testing, record, analyse, and interpret test data where applicable.

What You Bring
We are looking for a proactive, technically skilled individual with solid experience in Autodesk Inventor, a proven background in mechanical design, and knowledge of the water industry, electrical wiring regulations, and the Machinery Directive. A minimum of HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering or scientific discipline is required, along with familiarity with change management, Kaizen, or organisational excellence principles. • Proficient in Autodesk Inventor/Inventor Professional. • Demonstrated experience in a mechanical design environment. • Knowledge of the water industry and relevant regulations (electrical wiring, Machinery Directive). • Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in engineering or a scientific discipline. • Familiarity with Change Management, Kaizen, or Organisational Excellence principles.
