About the Role
The Maintenance Technician at The Key at Yale and Towne is responsible for delivering a high‑quality living experience to residents, ensuring smooth move‑ins, consistent resident satisfaction, and swift service response. This role serves as a key point of contact for residents, providing personalized attention and upholding the company's standards of customer service. Core duties include preparing vacant apartments for occupancy by performing painting, carpet repairs, cleaning, and general repairs, as well as handling routine maintenance tasks across plumbing, HVAC, basic electrical, carpentry, and snow removal when required. The technician also maintains common areas, pools, hot tubs, and dog park amenities, reports any issues to the Maintenance Supervisor, and may be on call for after‑hours emergencies. • Prepare make‑ready apartments (paint, carpet repair, cleaning, general repairs). • Respond promptly and professionally to resident service requests. • Perform routine plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, painting, and snow‑removal tasks. • Maintain grounds, pools/hot tubs, common areas, and dog park amenities. • Participate in on‑call emergency response and report issues to the supervisor. • Adhere to fair‑housing laws, safety protocols, and company policies. • Read technical manuals, calculate measurements, and write routine reports.

What You Bring
The position requires a valid driver’s license, EPA 608 Type II certification, and the ability to read technical manuals, perform basic calculations, and produce routine reports. Candidates must demonstrate common‑sense problem solving, adherence to safety procedures, and knowledge of state, local, and federal fair‑housing regulations. Applicants should possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent technical training, together with at least one year of related maintenance experience. The role operates in a professional office setting but also involves regular travel between property locations and exposure to varying weather conditions. Physical requirements include standing and walking for extended periods, navigating stairs and ladders, and lifting or moving objects up to 100 lb.
