About the Role
The Commercial Manager position supports the Joint Capabilities Group (JCG) in optimizing Tactical Data Link (TDL) integration and interoperability across the Joint Force and allied partners, leading commercial activities within a high‑profile Defence environment. • Lead complex procurement activities and manage ASDEFCON contracts for services, supplies, and software. • Provide strategic commercial advice and support to stakeholders and delegates. • Oversee contract performance, negotiations, and compliance with Defence procurement policy. • Develop APS commercial staff and coordinate representation at key contract meetings. • Identify and manage commercial risks, and prepare internal briefs and approval submissions. • Meaningful work: Deliver critical Defence projects protecting Australia and shaping its future.

What You Bring
The role requires a current Negative Vetting 1 (or higher) security clearance and may involve compliance with ITAR regulations. Candidates should bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality outcomes. • Extensive experience in procurement and contract management, ideally within Defence. • Strong understanding of Commonwealth procurement rules, PGPA Act, and probity requirements. • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines. • Familiarity with ASDEFCON contracting templates and formal procurement qualifications.
