Inspect and verify construction materials to ensure compliance with specs
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Inspect and verify all construction materials delivered to site for compliance with RTA specifications, approved submittals, and contract requirements. • Check material source approvals, delivery notes, batch certificates, and test reports before acceptance and use on site. • Carry out sampling and witness laboratory and field tests for soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel, and other civil materials per approved ITPs. • Ensure materials used for roadworks, bridges, culverts, drainage, and utility works meet approved specifications and drawings. • Monitor storage, handling, and protection of materials to prevent contamination, segregation, or damage. • Verify compliance with RTA‑approved suppliers, manufacturers, and testing laboratories. • Coordinate with the Material Engineer and Site Engineer on testing schedules, approvals, and material‑related issues. • Inspect asphalt paving, concrete works, earthworks, and backfilling to ensure correct materials and workmanship. • Review and submit Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) related to materials and civil works. • Maintain accurate inspection records, test results, and material logs for QA/QC and as‑built documentation. • Identify non‑conforming materials, raise NCRs and site observations, and follow up on corrective actions. • Ensure compliance with HSE requirements during material handling, sampling, and testing activities. • Monitor material usage and quantities to avoid wastage, misuse, or deviation from approved specifications. • Assist in RTA inspections and audits by providing required documentation and site support. • Report daily site activities, material inspections, and testing status to the Material Engineer/Resident Engineer.

What You Bring
The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant technical field and at least five years of experience in laboratory materials testing and field inspection. Experience in the Middle East and on comparable roads and bridges projects is preferred.
