About the Role
The engineer will carry out planned, reactive and cyclical maintenance, either independently or under the Facilities Manager’s supervision, ensuring all work is recorded in line with contract conditions. Responsibilities include servicing and repairing doors, windows, building fabric, plumbing systems and internal fixtures, while maintaining safe operation, storage and handling of plant, materials, equipment and tools. • Perform planned, reactive and cyclical maintenance independently or under supervision, recording all work per contract. • Service and repair doors, windows, building fabric, plumbing systems and internal fixtures. • Ensure safe operation, storage and handling of plant, materials, equipment and tools. • Conduct operational tests and inspections for security, access, maintenance and health and safety compliance. • Provide support to other RFM personnel in delivering contracted services. • Perform general plumbing tasks, including repair of sanitary ware and fittings. • Carry out basic electrical duties such as lamp changes and minor repairs. • Maintain awareness of health and safety procedures and safe working methods.

What You Bring
The role requires strong joinery and fabric skills, a relevant trade qualification or comparable experience in carpentry (doors, frames, hinges, locks, furniture repairs, shelving installation), general plumbing ability, basic electrical tasks, and a solid awareness of health and safety practices. Candidates must be hard‑working, reliable, punctual, possess good communication skills, hold a full UK driving licence and clear a Disclosure check.
