About the Role

As part of the Water Business Group, you will help shape how communities manage water for generations—delivering safe drinking water, responsibly treating wastewater, developing sustainable supplies, and protecting lives and property through flood control. This work supports public health, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure resilience, leveraging multidisciplinary expertise to solve complex challenges. The Water EIT/Coordinator role supports project engineers by developing designs, preparing technical plans and reports, applying engineering and modeling techniques, focusing on hydraulics and hydrology, ensuring quality control, and assisting the project team with additional tasks. • Design detailed water and wastewater treatment and collection systems under project engineer guidance. • Prepare plans, specifications, analyses, and reports for water/wastewater distribution and collection, and select equipment. • Apply engineering and modeling techniques for water resources projects for federal, state, and local municipalities. • Perform hydraulics, hydrology, and stormwater modeling, data collection, and present findings. • Conduct quality control reviews of completed designs.

What You Bring

Preferred candidates hold a master’s degree and an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certificate, with the latter required for career progression. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field, experience or interest in water/wastewater facility design, proficiency in AutoCAD/MicroStation and Microsoft Office, teamwork skills, and a commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture. • Hold a Master’s degree. • Possess an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certificate (or obtain it to progress from Design Coordinator role). • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field. • Experience or interest in designing water/wastewater treatment facilities. • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office. • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
