• Select equipment, plan layouts and welding using knowledge of geometry and metal properties • Layout, position, align, cut, assemble, and fit metal components in various positions • Bolt, clamp, and tack‑weld parts to secure them for welding • Set up equipment and weld using arc, gas‑shielded arc, submerged arc, or arc‑gas methods • Weld metal to piping systems using appropriate procedures for equipment and metal types • Identify required equipment and processes for the job • Identify safety risks and required safety measures • Perform Stick and TIG welding on pipe • Assist pipe fitters with installation, preparation, and fabrication • Maintain reliable transportation and work at heights as needed

What You Bring

ZACHRY is seeking an experienced Industrial Combination Welder for a position at EXXON MOBIL Beaumont in Beaumont, Texas. No per‑diem compensation is offered. The Combination Welder will weld, fabricate, and assist pipe fitters in installing various types of industrial pipe into project piping systems. The role requires 2g, 4g, and 6g welding capabilities, Stick and TIG welding on pipe, and a current Zachry welding certification or the ability to pass a weld test. Candidates must have at least four years of industrial pipe welding experience and possess all required knowledge, skills, and physical abilities, including ownership of the listed tools at the start date. Physical demands include extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, lifting up to 50 lb, and work at heights or on ladders while adhering to fall‑protection requirements. Workers must operate in various weather conditions and wear required personal protective equipment such as hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators, safety vest, gloves, and leather boots. The position reports to a supervisor and has no direct reports. It requires reliable transportation and the ability to meet all safety and equipment identification requirements. • Weld in 2g, 4g, and 6g positions • Hold a current Zachry welding certification or pass a weld test • Minimum four years of experience welding industrial‑size pipe (40, 80, 160) • Know metal characteristics and select proper welding processes • Experience with carbon steel, stainless, and chrome pipe • Lift and carry up to 50 lb and meet all physical demands • Metal tool box with lock • Stinger • Tig rig (combo welder only) • Welding hood • Chipping hammer • Pair of Klein pliers or equivalent • Crescent wrenches 12" & 15" • File (4‑12 lb beater) • Torpedo level • Pair of welding gloves • Pair of leather (overhead welding) • Rain coat
