About the Role
The Manager, Materials Control works closely with the Senior Manager of Inventory Control and other departmental leaders to plan and coordinate receipt, inspection, storage, and use of materials. This role monitors inventory levels, collaborates with the Warehouse Supervisor to acquire or relocate materials to support production, and contributes to the evaluation and improvement of materials management processes and policies. The manager also serves as a model for team members, providing escalation support for complex issues. The role involves physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb and standing for most of the workday in a manufacturing environment that may feature extreme temperatures, noise, dust, chemical fumes, and forklift traffic. The position is based in Longview, TX, supporting AAON’s mission to deliver innovative, sustainable HVAC solutions. • Coordinate receipt, inspection, storage, and usage of materials with senior management and other departments. • Monitor and control inventory levels, working with the Warehouse Supervisor to acquire or move materials for production needs. • Evaluate and improve materials management processes and policies. • Lead, train, and coach Materials Control Supervisors and their teams, handling hiring and employee issues. • Serve as escalation point for complex problems and ensure safe, efficient warehouse operations. • Uphold attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

What You Bring
A bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred but not required. Candidates must have at least five years of relevant experience, including two years in HVAC management, with eight years being preferred. The position requires strong expertise in materials management, inventory control, and purchasing, as well as proficiency with materials management software and Microsoft Office data‑analysis tools. Essential personal attributes include organizational leadership, problem‑solving, effective communication, negotiation, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure. • Maintain at least five years of related experience, including two years in HVAC management (eight years preferred). • Possess knowledge of materials management software, Microsoft Office, and data analysis tools. • Demonstrate strong organizational, leadership, problem‑solving, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. • Meet physical requirements: lift up to 50 lb, stand and walk 95 % of workdays, and work in environments with extreme temperatures and hazards.
