About the Role
The Maintenance Technician B works under the direct supervision of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager to perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks. This includes chassis components, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulics, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering. The role also involves basic tire work such as replacement, rotation, and tread depth checks. Key responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance of vehicle systems, on‑site and road‑side service, and welding or fabrication as needed. Technicians identify malfunction sources using electronic diagnostic tools and ensure equipment returns to safe, efficient operation. Ongoing training and additional job‑related duties are also required.

What You Bring
Candidates should understand work order labor time standards and have experience with light/medium duty (Classes 1‑5) and heavy‑duty (Classes 7‑8) trucks, aircraft, or ships. ASE certifications and a Commercial Driver’s License are a plus. A valid driver’s license and at least one year of relevant experience, or completion of an accredited automotive program within three months, are required.
