About the Role

All drivers must operate in compliance with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. They conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, complete DVIRs, report unsafe conditions, incidents, and service interruptions, and attend required training and briefings. Drivers collaborate with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency, communicate customer requests, dump receptacles cleanly, and complete end‑of‑day documentation. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments to transport waste or recyclables. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR reports. • Follow WM Safety, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws while executing safe backing maneuvers. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, service interruptions, and customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Participate in required training, briefings, and meetings; collaborate to improve route efficiency. • Complete end‑of‑day documentation, dump receptacles, and leave sites clean of debris. • Assist other drivers as needed to meet customer needs.

What You Bring

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable containers that can exceed 1,000 lb. Commercial drivers handle pick‑up service for containers, navigating high‑traffic roads, driveways, alleys, and lots, while residential drivers collect household waste and roll‑off drivers move large open‑top containers. Skilled backing maneuvers are essential across all driver categories. Required qualifications include at least one year of recent experience operating a CDL‑Class A or B vehicle (or equivalent military driving) within the past seven years, being at least 18 years old, holding a valid air‑brake endorsement, and legal eligibility to work in the United States. Preferred qualifications are a high school diploma or GED. The role demands physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities. • Required: 1 year of recent CDL‑Class A or B driving (or equivalent military) within 7 years, age 18+, valid air‑brake endorsement, legal work eligibility. • Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
