About the Role
The Senior Scheduling Engineer leads the scheduling team, coordinates project schedules, ensures compliance with corporate standards, mentors field personnel, supports crew resources, and handles hiring and performance evaluations while fostering a safety‑focused, collaborative environment. • Provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities • Plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct planning and scheduling activities • Ensure corporate planning and schedule standards are implemented and complied with • Supervise the scheduling team • Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, forepersons, and assistant superintendents • Establish and nurture a teamwork environment • Ensure crews have resources and support • Provide work direction and conduct performance evaluations • Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions • Develop leadership potential through task assignments and career growth opportunities • Implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program at project sites • Manage open shop and union issues • Maintain relationships with site visitors such as customers, architects, union representatives, and subcontractors • Manage site work and logistics efficiently, offering improvement suggestions

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler who will provide oversight of planning and scheduling activities, interact with staff at all levels, and maintain professionalism and confidentiality. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or a related field, have at least four years of construction experience, and possess strong communication, scheduling, and problem‑solving skills, including knowledge of 4D planning and cost‑loaded schedules. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field • Minimum of four years construction experience or equivalent combination of training and experience • Experience as a project engineer is desirable • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Active listening and openness to diverse input and feedback • Ability to travel as required • Thorough knowledge of scheduling concepts, principles, practices, and company software • Strong plan and specification reading, review, and interpretation skills • Working knowledge of 4D visual planning methodologies • Basic knowledge of project management, contracts, and buyout • Basic knowledge of cost and resource‑loaded schedules • Basic knowledge of claims avoidance and resolution techniques • Strong organization, team, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
