About the Role
The SAE is responsible for prospecting and closing sales to new customers to meet budgeted sales goals, while also developing and implementing retention strategies for existing accounts. This includes negotiating contracts, educating customers on contract details, and handling cancellation requests. All escalations within the territory are resolved by the SAE. Key duties include maintaining and growing billable value by selling new waste streams, services, and products to current and prospective customers, managing a robust sales pipeline, and meeting proactive account‑retention activity targets. The role requires proposing compliant solutions, collaborating with Area Sales Managers, Plant Managers, and Brokerage Account Managers, and staying informed on internal sales strategies and market trends. • Retain and grow existing accounts by handling cancellations, providing contract education, and securing renewals. • Develop and execute selling and retention strategies to meet or exceed sales and profit targets. • Maintain a robust sales pipeline and track key prospect information in the CRM. • Meet or surpass sales call activity and proactive account‑retention metrics. • Propose compliant waste‑stream, service, and product solutions aligned with local, state, and federal regulations. • Negotiate contracts and pricing to preserve business and improve profitability. • Collaborate with Area Sales Managers, Plant Managers, and Brokerage Account Managers to resolve customer issues and optimize equipment. • Stay current on internal sales strategies, operational capabilities, and external market trends. • Utilize standard office tools (computer, phone, copier) in office, remote, and field settings.

What You Bring
The Senior Account Executive (SAE) will cover the Eastern Indianapolis territory in a hybrid role that requires the candidate to live in the area. This position combines hunter and farmer responsibilities, focusing on both acquiring new business and retaining existing accounts. An aggressive hunter who enjoys cold‑calling and prospecting is preferred, and prior B2B field sales experience is a plus. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree (or a high school diploma/GED with four years of relevant experience) and at least four years of direct B2B sales experience that involves cold calling and securing customer appointments. Experience with Salesforce.com is preferred. The position operates in a hybrid environment—office, remote, and field—requiring routine use of computers, phones, and copy machines. Candidates must be able to travel as needed and possess a REAL ID or equivalent. • Achieve required qualifications: bachelor's degree (or high school/GED + 4 years experience) and at least four years of direct B2B sales with cold‑calling success. • Preferred experience with Salesforce.com for pipeline management.
