About the Role

The Superintendent will plan and implement material, equipment, and inspection schedules to support the project timeline, review construction documents for completeness and constructability, and coordinate plans with design engineers. Responsibilities also include developing project schedules and site logistics, collaborating with partner superintendents, and managing tools and equipment. The role involves coaching, supervising, and developing team members, conducting orientations, site meetings, and performance discussions, while ensuring proper task coding and work‑progress tracking. What You Bring

Candidates must hold an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or possess at least ten years of trade experience, along with a current driver’s license. They must be able to manage multiple complex projects from development through closeout, demonstrate detail‑orientation, and possess a basic understanding of construction law and business practices. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong customer‑service attitude, effective communication, and the ability to travel up to 100 % are required. Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and affirmative‑action plans is also essential. Superintendent I requires a minimum of five years of construction management or related experience, with a base pay range of $111,400 – $167,100. Superintendent II requires at least eight years of experience, with a base range of $130,100 – $195,200; certain locations (Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Washington, D.C.) receive higher ranges. Base pay is positioned within the range based on knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity, and the role is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan. Mortenson does not sponsor visas for this position; applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
