Job Highlights
About the Role
• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and designs for low, medium, and high voltage substations under senior guidance. • Work under the direction of project managers and project engineers. • Produce calculations, design sketches, and redline drawings. • Collaborate with designers and CAD technicians to develop drawings that meet national standards, safety codes, and project specifications. • Create one‑line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA and communications layouts, physical substation layouts, material lists, conduit and cable sizing/routing, AC/DC system calculations, and grounding designs. • Travel occasionally on short‑term assignments (typically 1‑5 days).

What You Bring
Preferred qualifications include an Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate; candidates without an EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and are expected to obtain their EIT for career progression. Local candidates are preferred. Required qualifications are a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer skills in Microsoft Office, and an attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture. • Gain knowledge in protection and control (indoor) and physical (outdoor) aspects of high‑voltage substation design.
