About the Role
The Class A Lineman role involves construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical overhead distribution systems. The position works at various locations and may require interstate travel based on customer demands. Core duties include safely performing new construction, maintenance, and repair on both energized and de‑energized overhead lines, leading crew members when the foreman is absent, stringing overhead wire, setting poles and anchors, and installing equipment such as transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear. The lineman also troubleshoots primary and secondary systems, replaces cutout fuses, clears faulted circuits, and handles high‑voltage work with an emphasis on safety. Additional responsibilities cover vehicle and tool maintenance, rigorous physical labor, accurate identification of primary and secondary voltages, understanding of induced voltage and grounding procedures, and the ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and climb various structures while using proper PPE. What You Bring
Candidates must have at least five years of recent field experience, be able to read and communicate effectively in English, obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days (CDL preferred), and be willing to travel long distances on short notice. The role requires lifting over 50 lb, inspecting rubber goods and PPE, and working overtime, weekends, holidays, and in inclement weather. • Work at heights, in confined spaces, and climb various structures while using proper PPE. • Travel long distances on short notice and lift more than 50 lb. • Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days; CDL preferred.
