About the Role
The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Project Safety Manager partners with EH&S and project teams to enforce site compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements on a single construction project within the assigned geographic area. The role also leads training on safe work practices and guides project teams in managing environmental and hazardous material reports. Key responsibilities include leading and directing EH&S on the project, managing time and resources, assessing safety practices, and developing action plans to mitigate known and potential exposures. The manager communicates performance requirements, promotes safe work conditions, maintains relationships with project staff and subcontractor safety representatives, and enforces the project safety program and related policies. Additional duties involve reviewing subcontractor safety programs and pre‑task plans, conducting pre‑construction planning meetings, establishing risk‑mitigation strategies, delivering worker orientation programs, logging toolbox meetings, and performing safety audits with corrective action reporting. The manager collaborates with project leadership to produce safety metrics, reports, and recommendations for continuous improvement. • Enforce EH&S policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements on a designated construction project. • Lead safety training for project personnel, subcontractors, and Turner trades. • Assess site safety practices, identify exposures, and develop mitigation action plans. • Communicate safety performance standards and drive adoption of best practices. • Review and approve subcontractor safety programs, pre‑task plans, and toolbox talks. • Conduct pre‑construction safety meetings and establish risk‑mitigation strategies. • Deliver worker orientation programs and maintain participation records. • Perform safety audits, issue corrective action reports, and track resolution. • Collaborate with project leadership to generate safety metrics and improvement recommendations.

What You Bring
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or a related field, a minimum of four years of construction safety experience, and a required CHST certification (or attainment within two years). Candidates must have completed OSHA 30‑hour training, hold current First Aid/CPR/BBP/AED certifications, and possess strong knowledge of Federal, State, and local EH&S regulations, leadership, communication, and analytical skills. The position requires reliable transportation for travel, the ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing stairs and ladders, and the capacity to lift up to 15 pounds regularly (occasionally up to 50 pounds). Work is performed primarily at construction sites where employees are exposed to moving equipment, hazardous conditions, and varying noise levels, with occasional office work. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Safety/Engineering, 4+ years construction safety experience, CHST certification, OSHA 30‑hour training, and current First Aid/CPR/BBP/AED certifications.
