About the Role

The Safety Manager position pays $120,000‑$150,000 annually and is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the company’s safety programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and maintaining safe work environments at project sites and offices. • Implement and manage safety policies in compliance with OSHA regulations. • Administer project safety, accident, and hazard communication programs. • Correct unsafe employee activities, procedures, and practices. • Inspect work locations to identify existing or potential hazards. • Document unsafe conditions and ensure corrective measures are implemented. • Evaluate contractor safety programs and manage recommended changes. • Investigate accidents and injuries through interviews and site inspections, reviewing PPE and equipment. • Provide regular safety training for all employees, including labor, foremen, supervisors, and managers. • Recommend disciplinary action when safety policies are violated. • Manage contractor safety training administration. • Oversee the Workers’ Compensation program and collaborate with the insurance carrier to reduce lost time. • Ensure accurate completion and submission of safety records and regulatory reports. • Prepare materials and evidence for hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations. • Hire, train, and manage safety staff. • Supply signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of hazards and restrict access. • Maintain safety files and records. • Prepare and display safety exhibits at industry conferences and exhibitions. • Effectively train and manage staff. • Work indoors with occasional onsite/outdoor duties. • When on project sites, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, or crouch in construction areas.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or a related field. • Minimum five years of construction safety experience. • Knowledge of OSHA rules, regulations, and reporting processes. • Demonstrate sound business judgment and common sense in recommendations. • Multi‑task and handle multiple simultaneous projects. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing. • Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction at all company levels and with external parties. • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite. • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading, writing, and computer use. • Potential exposure to extreme weather conditions and loud noise.
