About the Role

The Manufacturing Engineering Leader will develop and own a five-year manufacturing strategy for the South Milwaukee plant, driving strategic growth initiatives and overseeing projects that meet future capacity needs. This role manages capital appropriation, budgeting, and execution of funds to improve the facility and achieve growth goals. The leader owns manufacturing routings, working closely with Engineer-to-Order (ETO) engineering to maintain accurate routing models across all product lines. They also manage cost-out activities, partner with Maintenance-of-Line (MOL) engineering, and ensure proper scope of work for the broader engineering organization. Collaboration with Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Finance, and Operations is essential to meet and exceed end-to-end operational goals. The role delivers Design for Manufacturability and Design for Servicability in partnership with NPD Engineering, leads root-cause analysis, oversees equipment specifications, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and drives adoption of smart manufacturing tools such as connected factory systems, MES, and Industry 4.0 initiatives. Leadership responsibilities include mentoring a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians, setting priorities, managing performance and career development, and leading kaizen events focused on standard work and waste elimination. The leader also implements manufacturing standards, error-proofing, and process controls, while managing installed capacity, bottleneck theory, and reduction of constraints across value streams. The position oversees the Maintenance and Facilities team, ensuring preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs maintain uptime, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Hiring, training, and developing talent to sustain proper staffing levels for plant strategy is also required. • Craft a 5-year manufacturing strategy for the South Milwaukee facility. • Direct capital budgeting and execution to support facility improvements. • Own and maintain manufacturing routings in collaboration with ETO engineering. • Lead cost-reduction initiatives to achieve annual targets. • Coordinate with Maintenance-of-Line engineering on work scopes. • Partner with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Sales, Finance, Operations) to meet operational goals. • Ensure Design for Manufacturability and Design for Servicability with NPD Engineering. • Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process failures. • Supervise equipment specification development, FAT/SAT, and commissioning activities. • Drive implementation of smart manufacturing tools, MES, and Industry 4.0 solutions. • Mentor and develop manufacturing engineers and technicians, managing performance and career growth. • Facilitate kaizen events targeting standard work and waste elimination. • Apply manufacturing standards, error-proofing, and process controls across the plant. • Manage installed capacity, identify bottlenecks, and reduce constraints in value streams. • Oversee Maintenance and Facilities teams, ensuring preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs. • Recruit, train, and retain talent to sustain plant strategy execution.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree (engineering preferred) and have at least seven years of manufacturing or operations engineering experience, including three years in a manufacturing engineering leadership role. Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required; a master’s degree, SAP routing/BOM expertise, Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, CI certifications, and strong Microsoft Office proficiency are preferred. • Possess a bachelor's degree (engineering preferred) and 7+ years of relevant experience. • Hold at least 3 years of manufacturing engineering leadership experience. • Be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. • Preferred qualifications: master's degree, SAP routing/BOM expertise, Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, CI certifications, and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
