About the Role
The Day Porter is responsible for daily interior cleaning of the building, including emptying waste receptacles, vacuuming or shampooing floors and carpets, dusting furniture, restocking restrooms, washing walls, polishing and mopping floors, placing mats during inclement weather, cleaning up spills, and cleaning windows and window coverings, all in accordance with established procedures and supervisor direction. The role may also involve exterior cleaning and basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning walls and windows, maintaining parking lots, walkways, gardens, pools, curbs, exterior hallways, and stairwells, as well as assisting with minor repairs, painting, bulb replacement, furniture moves, and simple plumbing work. Additional duties can include inventory control, supply ordering, snow removal (including salting and sanding), and helping with tenant moves, while promptly notifying management of any spills, emergencies, repair needs, or safety concerns. The Day Porter must safely operate cleaning equipment, tools, and chemical agents, follow safety protocols and work orders, and demonstrate reliability, thoroughness, observation, organization, flexibility, courtesy, and teamwork. The position operates in a professional office environment, regularly using standard office equipment and requiring travel between properties in varying weather conditions. • Perform daily interior cleaning tasks: waste removal, floor vacuuming/shampooing, dusting, restroom restocking, wall washing, floor polishing/mopping, mat placement, spill cleanup, window cleaning. • Clean exterior areas including walls, windows, parking lots, walkways, gardens, pools, curbs, exterior hallways, and stairwells. • Assist with minor maintenance and repairs: painting, bulb/fixture replacement, window replacement, furniture moving, door/gate repairs, simple plumbing fixes, landscaping upkeep. • Support inventory control, supply ordering, snow removal (salting/sanding), and tenant move assistance. • Promptly report spills, emergencies, repair needs, lighting issues, broken equipment, plumbing failures, HVAC problems, and other safety concerns. • Safely operate cleaning equipment, power tools, and chemical solutions to protect floors, fixtures, and individuals.

What You Bring
Required qualifications include a High School diploma, GED, or vocational training and some related cleaning experience; basic mechanical knowledge and the willingness to work evenings or weekends on call are preferred. Physical demands include frequent standing or sitting, climbing stairs, walking, and the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds regularly, as well as occasional travel between buildings. • Follow safety protocols and work orders; be reliable, observant, organized, flexible, courteous, and a team player. • Meet education requirement: High School diploma, GED, or vocational training. • Possess cleaning experience and basic mechanical knowledge (preferred). • Be willing to work evenings or weekends on call for emergencies. • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lb frequently, stand or sit 85 % of the time, climb stairs, and travel between buildings.
