About the Role

You will provide safety leadership, SHEQ and CDM guidance to project teams on major infrastructure programmes. The position involves developing, implementing and promoting SHEQ and CDM management systems and contract strategies, while balancing project and commercial risk with client, staff and operational performance. You will also lead and respond to audits in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.

What You Bring

Although rail‑focused, the position requires proven experience across rail and related sectors, as well as strong awareness of wider business operations, including commercial and people management, corporate systems, business development, recruitment and staff development. • Certified Member of Association of Project Safety (CMaPS) or Member of International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (MIIRSM) • NEBOSH certification • Working knowledge of OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 auditing and other health and safety standards • Proven health and safety leadership across rail, transport and infrastructure projects through design and construction phases • Experience managing health and safety activities during design, delivery and procurement of multidisciplinary engineering projects in the UK, with strong stakeholder and team management skills • Thorough knowledge of health and safety legislation, CDM requirements, Safe by Design principles and railway safety
