Labour, Excavator operator, Civil technician

About the Role

The Labour, Excavator operator, Civil technician is responsible for delivering the civil installation elements of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and Traffic Control Systems (TCS) projects across the O&M portfolio. This includes construction, modification, and reconstruction of assets to meet technical specifications and safety standards, supporting Yunex Traffic’s operational objectives through high‑quality workmanship and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. • Comply with internal and external processes • Construct and reconstruct assets such as Traffic Control Signals (TCS), Variable Message Signs (VMS) and hazard warning signs (AWS, VSLS) • Perform electrical testing of ITS assets • Prepare equipment prior to final installation (e.g., traffic signal controllers or vehicle detection systems) • Install or modify new and existing TCS and ITS assets • Undertake additional training on new equipment and systems through formal, informal and on‑the‑job methods • Liaise with customers and other contractors on site • Ensure works are completed according to site specifications, on time and to high quality • Follow the Company Health and Safety Policy and mitigate potential hazards

What You Bring

The position requires strong verbal and written communication, the ability to meet strict deadlines, initiative, physical fitness, a full driving licence (MR/HR preferred), and a cooperative, team‑oriented attitude. A high level of accuracy, reliability and willingness to learn new equipment and tasks are essential. Desirable but not mandatory qualifications include experience with traffic‑signal infrastructure, excavator or rigging VOC, a construction white card, first‑aid/CPR certification and basic traffic control knowledge.
