About the Role
The Project Director supports engineering programmes within the Planning and Engineering Office, overseeing the front‑end elements of construction projects from conception through design and construction. The role ensures consistency and compliance of engineering design documents, advises on federal and state regulations, and works closely with the Construction and Rail Operations Offices to develop systems‑related policies and railway component designs, including civil infrastructure, stations and maintenance facilities. • Lead front‑end construction phases from concept through design and construction. • Develop, maintain, and enforce engineering design guidance, criteria, specifications, and management plans. • Partner with Construction and Rail Operations Offices to create and implement systems policies, integration, and certification standards. • Oversee design, planning, and commercial development of stations, alignments, and related infrastructure. • Ensure infrastructure designs comply with authority requirements and standards. • Coordinate corridor planning activities and provide feedback to state and regional agencies. • Advise the Chief of Planning and Engineering on complex, high‑risk engineering programs. • Manage engineering activities to maintain consistency and integration across projects. • Prepare status reports and track issues and resolutions. • Apply SOX controls as required.

What You Bring
• 20+ years of engineering experience with at least 8 years in leadership roles. • Proven expertise in high‑speed rail (HSR) or similar railway engineering and planning.

Benefits
This full‑time position, classified under the Infrastructure department, offers a salary range of $190 K–$230 K plus a comprehensive benefits package.
