About the Role

The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for managing and supervising the planning, layout, installation, testing, and repair of wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, motors, equipment, and control systems. Work must comply with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards, including the National Electrical Code (NEC). The role also involves coordinating foremen and leadmen, motivating them to complete work safely, correctly, and efficiently, and overseeing other crafts as needed. Key duties include maintaining positive relationships with clients and superintendents, ensuring a safe and clean work environment, and delivering high‑quality results at all times. The superintendent participates in safety, quality, production, and planning meetings, conducts foreman and crew evaluations, and promotes a culture of continuous improvement. Additional responsibilities cover accurate timesheet and productivity reporting, schedule monitoring, and adherence to company policies such as “The Sundt Way.” • Supervise planning, layout, installation, testing, and repair of electrical systems per NEC and project specs. • Coordinate and motivate foremen, leadmen, and crew to achieve safe, efficient, high‑quality work. • Maintain client and superintendent relationships while ensuring a clean, safe work environment. • Lead safety, quality, production, and planning meetings and conduct crew performance evaluations. • Promote continuous improvement and enforce “The Sundt Way” company policies. • Ensure accurate time‑sheet, quantity, and productivity reporting. • Monitor 1‑week and 6‑week schedules, align with master schedule, and develop work packages. • Perform physically demanding tasks up to 12‑hour shifts, including climbing, lifting up to 50 lb, and using PPE. • Meet safety‑sensitive requirements handling equipment, hazardous materials, and work at heights. • Participate in Sundt Foundation charitable program and employee‑owner perks.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least five years of experience at level I or six‑plus years at level II in the relevant construction market, with an in‑depth understanding of the trade they supervise. They must set high standards for leadership, safety, quality, and productivity, and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. All required licenses for the jurisdiction of work must be held. The position requires working up to 12‑hour shifts involving hard physical labor in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions, including climbing, lifting up to 50 lb, and frequent use of hands. Employees must wear appropriate personal protective equipment and be able to comply with all safety standards while interacting regularly with coworkers and using communication tools such as phones and computers. • Require minimum 5‑year (Level I) or 6‑plus‑year (Level II) electrical construction experience and appropriate licenses. • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication and set high standards for leadership, safety, quality, and productivity.
