About the Role

• Interpret isometric drawings, 3‑D models, welding symbols and code specifications. • Work on floors, guarded platforms, ladders or welding tables. • Perform floor erection and fixture assembly of pressure vessels and subassemblies. • Weld in all positions using stick, TIG, SMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and other methods. • Create or follow layouts from centerlines to locate and fabricate internal and external components. • Prepare material for welding by cleaning, bead blasting, and grinding. • Weld components per drawings, including heads, lugs, brackets, baffles, piping, valves, fittings, oil coolers, water boxes, and covers. • Perform carbon arc or plasma arc gouging. • Repair defective welds and parts. • Maintain a clean and safe work area. • Apply basic mathematics and read prints, sketches, written/verbal instructions, and method sheets. • Commit to safe work practices at all times.

What You Bring

• Clean and dress welds to Navy Welding Standards. • Pass Navy Military Code Standard 2‑inch pipe test (6G position, E7018 filler) prior to hire. • Hold a high school diploma or GED. • Have at least 3 years of welding experience with SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW in all positions. • Proficient with measuring tools, levels, laser levels, squares, fixtures, pneumatic tools, platforms, and ladders. • Physically capable of moving heavy materials, handling chain falls, and working in strenuous positions. • Possess technical or vocational welding education or equivalent experience (preferred). • Experience welding to code standards (preferred). • Rigging and overhead crane operation skills (preferred). • Knowledge of Military Code requirements (preferred). • Experience welding exotic materials (preferred). • Ability to use weld gauges, including fillet and V‑Wac gauges (preferred).

Benefits

We are seeking a Welder/Fitter for the 2nd shift at our York, PA location, offering a starting rate of $30.96 per hour plus a $0.70 shift differential. This is a union‑bargained position with benefits effective on the first day of employment, and relocation assistance may be available under certain conditions. • Starting hourly rate $30.96 plus $0.70 shift differential. • Eligibility for benefits on the first day of employment. • Potential relocation assistance subject to conditions.
