About the Role

The Material Engineer role, based in Dubai, ensures all project materials comply with specifications and receive approval from relevant authorities. Reporting to the Resident Engineer, the position provides oversight of contractor activities, material delivery, and field inspections to maintain quality and schedule adherence. • Review and approve contractor‑proposed materials and methods per Resident Engineer delegation. • Prepare the Material Engineer’s daily diary. • Oversee contractor daily activities, work assignments, on‑site performance, and provide supervision guidance. • Conduct factory visits and supplier plant inspections as required. • Follow up on testing and obtain approvals from relevant authorities. • Review contractor testing requests and completed test reports. • Review and approve contractor submissions as delegated by the Resident Engineer. • Monitor material delivery performance and verify accuracy of on‑site materials. • Coordinate with contractor supervisory personnel on schedule, sequence, and work methods. • Ensure contractor work conforms to the project schedule. • Perform continuous field inspections and consult with Resident and contractor supervisory staff. • Prepare written and oral reports to the Resident Engineer on contractual and procedural matters.

What You Bring

Qualified candidates hold a recognized BSc degree and Dubai Central Laboratory approval, and bring at least ten years of experience in design, construction, and supervision of water pipelines, sewerage, rising mains, and pumping stations. A strong knowledge of Dubai’s existing infrastructure and extensive ISO 9000 quality‑inspection experience are essential.
