About the Role
The primary duties involve preparing engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and designs for high‑voltage transmission lines under the guidance of senior engineers and designers, and may include occasional short‑term travel for site work. • Perform structural analysis and design of steel structures, foundations, and support systems in compliance with applicable codes (ASCE, ACI, AISC, IEEE, NESC). • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials. • Review vendor shop drawings for conformance to construction documents. • Coordinate with electrical, civil, and protection & control engineers to ensure integrated design solutions. • Conduct site visits for data collection, constructability reviews, and field engineering support. • Support project management activities including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and client communication. • Work under the direction of Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s). • Conduct analyses to develop design options, perform modeling and/or calculations, and prepare design sketches and concept drawings. • Work with Designers and CAD Technicians to develop construction drawings in accordance with national design standards, safety codes, and project specifications. • Assist with preparing cost estimates or specifications. • Participate in field reviews or construction observation.

This entry‑level opportunity is ideal for a self‑directed individual eager to learn and take on new challenges while working on high‑voltage transmission line projects ranging from simple structure replacements to large greenfield designs. • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate (candidates without an EIT will be hired as Transmission Designers and expected to obtain the certification for career progression). • Bachelor's degree in Engineering. • Computer skills in Microsoft Office.
